Still Life in the Snow Storm

Continuing the Still Life with Hockey Nerd series...

This was taken at Illegal Pete's, which was one of the few places open yesterday serving food. For those of you in Canada, that plate is full of what we call nachos. The tomato stuff and the green stuff is called salsa, which you may know as chutney. I didn't have a burrito, as that may have confused you (in my 6 months spent in Toronto, I never did see one). But, to the left is a Molson Canadian. I'm sure the phone (first look at the new one) was made overseas.

Chutney? No, we still call it salsa. And it's too bad you missed Burrito Boyz here in TO because they make the best in the world.

Were they there in 1998? I was staying just off Queen st by Much Music. Great Thai food, though.

I don't know if they were or not, they are close to there though, like on Richmond and Peter. Was the Queen Mother there? They have wicked pad thai.

And btw, I'm sad the Flames won't be playing your boys tonight. I was looking forward to the reaction of Tanguay's homecoming.

I was going to make the same comment about Burrito Boyz here in the T-dot...

Of course, I've never had them sober, but from what I remember they are phenomenal...

And I've only lived here since 2001, but I'm pretty sure that both Burrito Boyz and the Queen Mother have been here longer than that...

I too am bummed out about the Flames not being able to retain their lead in the Northwest with a win tonight...

Nachos - never heard of them! Salsa! What the heck is that? Don't you ride a burrito? You lost me here TL! I'd better go back to my igloo, put on a tuque, and scrape the frost off my table hockey game. This civilization stuff is too much for me!
